Canaan is a dwelling place for a sustainable life. We produce Indonesian-made crafts, homewares and naturally-dyed clothing and textiles by ways of collaborating and supporting the local artisans.
We believe in working together with other creatives and have facilitated various engagements in arts, photography and craft-based workshops. Canaan always strive to achieve a sustainable and ethical practice.
Our stores and spaces are spread across Jakarta and Bali. On December 2009, Escalier store, uniquely located in the entrance of Potato Head Beach Club, opened its doors to public. On April 2018, Canaan opened a showroom inside Unearth Space in the South of Jakarta together with Ayu Larasati Ceramics. Followed by a second showroom in Jakarta as Niniveh, an experimental space shared with Chris Bunjamin Studio in September 2019. In that same month, our Canaan Bali boutique and cafe that we share with Rou Coffee moved to Jalan Drupadi.
